The Farm

Circled “W.Wilson” is where William and Margaret Wilson settled. The arrow points to where Lindsay and Brenden bought a home and started Wilson Farm.

The old Hazendale farmstand on Hardwick Street.

Wilson Farm was founded in 2015 by husband and wife team, Brenden and Lindsay Beer. The farm started on their property in Greensboro, which they discovered soon after setting down our roots, that Lindsay’s ancestors, the Wilson’s had settled just across the pond from their home over eight generations ago.

In the summer of 2019, with major support from the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, Vermont Land Trust and Greensboro Land Trust they purchased the old Hazendale Farm, just five miles down the road from their home farm in the center of Greensboro.

The farm at Hazendale has a rich history of organic vegetable farming and had provided the greater community with fresh produce, berries and local goods for over 30 years.

They continue to carry on the tradition of farming the land by expanding herb production, operating a Farm Market for the community and building Apothecary offerings.

Growing Practices

NOFA-seal2.png

We are a small scale, Vermont Certified Organic farm focused on maintaining the highest quality standards of herbal medicine. We hand harvest, dry and process with intention to ensure that each small batch achieves its greatest healing potential.

For us, it all starts at the beginning with the soil by employing alternative and sustainable methods of farming. On land that has been certified organic for decades, we’ve allowed it to rest and rebuild before continuing cycles of diversified crop growth. With the majority of our crops being perennials, it’s important that we steward and enrich the land. This is accomplished with a thoughtful system of crop rotation and creating an environment to encourage pollinators and beneficial insects.
